He wrenched Persephone from Cyane, dragged her into his inky chariot, and blasted back through the earth. Suddenly, the earth split, and a terrifying figure arose. As they admired a flower, they noticed it tremble in the ground. Despite being a decent king, Hades apparently lacked common sense, because instead of trying to talk to Persephone, he decided to consult Creepy-Crawler-Bro, Zeus. One day, Persephone was frolicking in a meadow with the nymph, Cyane. While Hermes explains the rules to them, Hades and Persephone promise to give their relationship another try and Persephone leaves. On one of his rare trips out of the underworld, Hades saw Persephone and instantly fell in love. Hades finally lets Orpheus sing his song, on the condition that he would have to be touched by the song, and is so touched that he and Persephone share a dance with each other. When Orpheus sings a sad song to the workers, which touches them and Persephone, who hears it and it inspires her pleas Hades to sing. ![]() The voice of Orpheus was so moving that Hades promised to this desperate man that Eurydice would follow him to the Upper World, the world of the living. Persephone is now living in Hadestown and is in a very bad mood. Hades openly wept, Persephones heart melted and even Cerberus, the gigantic three-headed hound guarding the entry to the underworld, covered his many ears with his paws and howled in despair. She later leaves to Hadestown, very unhappy and utterly devastated. Every year she rides a train going six feet up out of Hadestown and stays there for six months, but recently has always been late and always leaves early due to Hades wanting to stay with her more, suspecting she was loving another man. Persephone is a greek goddess who is the wife of Hades. ![]()
